Well I hope everyone enjoyed their respective Holiday Weekend. For those of you who are either Jewish or Christian. I hope either way it was a beautiful time for fellowship, good food and times with your family & friends.
I had a productive weekend. Friday Evening...took in a small trot of about 4 miles, even though the Garmin said 3 (I was wiping the running nose) and turned off my Garmin at about mile 2 and did not notice it till about mile three. But it was still a good run. It was an interval run after a few minutes warming up running almost all out for 2 minutes then recovery run for two minutes x 3, then a tempo run for a mile then a nice jog home. Later that evening went to McDermott Pool with Melissa and Leslie..and swam about 1800 or so yards...Even with all the toys in the world I still can not keep count of laps in the pool. The SWEET thing was the pool was warm...Thank God!!! But by the time we were done swimming there was a warm fog raising out of the water..almost eerie...
Saturday was the Jamestown Bridge 10K.,,,,,BEAUTIFUL DAY!!! Little chilly to start, but nice. My First mile was AWESOME!!!! did it is 8:18... Yahoo.. then the tummy started to gurgle....OH NO!!! By the time I got to mile 3.5 I was walking and praying to find a spot in the woods....But nope did not find any...By the time I was back on the bridge and coming over the other side of it I was just praying to make it off the bridge before getting sick. it was cold and windy on the bridge going back and most of you know I have a fear of bridges...running this race last year started the winning battle of defeating that fear!!!! About 400 or 500 yards left of the bridge, a GREAT FRIEND!!! Dianne, stopped to encourage me to finish the race with her, I think when she saw the distress in my face she knew I was not feeling well. She walked to the end of the bridge with me and was my "look out" while I was hiding int he bushes under the bridge....THANK YOU DIANNE!!!! Enough of the GROSS stuff... Back to the run....Dianne and I walked a little more, then my gut started to feel better and we jogged the last .2 miles or to the finish line.
Still trying to figure out why I had a sick gut that morning, maybe it was because I was running int eh AM for the first time in months, been running in the afternoon and at night since December?. Maybe it was cause I had not taken my anti-acid med? I had not changes my diet that morning or the night before, So who knows... BUT I FINISHED...a little slower then I wanted especially starting out with such a great first mile.... official time was 1hr17minutes45 seconds....for 6.2 miles....
