The mind, body and Spirit all need to rest from time to time. So to day I am following Coach Tara's advice and RESTING TODAY....This is where I wish I was resting though!
Because I think we are going to get a few inches of Snow tomorrow!!!
Yahoo NOTTTTT... I need to go out and run 3-4 miles and really do not want to do it again on the treadmill.
The work outs have been good most of the week. Two more days of base building ( Saturday and Sunday). Then next week is a recovery base week....I am trying to figure out what that means. I guess Ill have to wait for Coach to post the work outs and she what we have to do.
Monday 2/6: Rest day
Tuesday 2/7: Ran on tread mill 30 minutes felt great 1.0 incline between 5.5 and 6.0 mph.
Wednesday 2/8: Ran 3.68 outside with a couple of friends felt really good! then went home and did 55 minutes on bike...
Thursday 2/9: Ran 1 minutes working on intervals. first 7 minutes at 5.5 mph at 1.0 incline then one minute increase speed followed by 2 minute recovery x3: 1) 6.5 mph x 1 min then recovery 5.5 x2min 2) 6.7 mph x 1 min then recovery 5.5 x 2 min 3) 7.0 x 1 min then 2 min recovery at 5.5 mph.... then a couple minutes cool down...then onto the pool...TOTALLY SCREWED UP on using my Garmin in the water. I know I did 1200 yards...drills 50 yards x 2; 100 yds then rest 30secs; 150 yds then rest 30 sec; 200 yds then rest 30 sec; 150 yds then rest 30 secs; then 100 yds then rest 30 secs then cool down 100 total... then did another 200 very slow and specific to practice my stroke formation with gliding it out and pulling it back and recovering in the stroke.
I saw 161.6 pounds on scale this week then at the gym I weighed myself and it said 165...UGHHHH I so know better then to use any other scale then mine own! That is the one I have used since i started my weight loss journey and the one I should stick with!
I have also been using compression stocking everyday, ( I recently found out I have some venous reflux in my legs and the vascular doctor told me to start wearing them ALL THE TIME...but I will say not too bad...I will be having some veins removed next week because they are causing discomfort and pain. The first procedure will be next week on one leg and the next week will be the other leg.

knee highs (for most of the time) |

thigh highs (for a week after each procedure) |
So what I have to wear everyday is "medical" compression socks that are between 20-30 mm/Hg and most "athletic" brands are only 18-20 mm/Hg. My health insurance covers the "medical" ones(the cost for the four pairs I needed was about $470.00) and I have been wearing them for over two weeks, including working out. I am trying to figure out if I should buy a couple of athletic ones to wear while training and racing.
The athletic ones come in better colors...LOL :-)
